Zaporizhzhya National Technical University is interested in the cooperation with SUA in Nitra

On the initiative of representatives of Zaporizhzhya National Technical University (ZNTU) in Ukraine a meeting at SUA in Nitra was held on September 14.

On the initiative of representatives of Zaporizhzhya National Technical University (ZNTU) in Ukraine a meeting at SUA in Nitra was held on September 14. A three-member delegation - ZNTU Rector prof. Sergiy Borisovich Belikov, a Head of Department of software tools of the Institute of radio-electronics and informatics ZNTU prof. Galina Tabunščik and Head of the Office for Education Dr. Andrej Parchumenko was received by SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., Vice-Rector for Education and ECTS prof. Mgr. Zdenka Gálová, PhD., Vice-Rector for Development of Strategic Programmes prof. Mgr. Eleonora Marišová, PhD., and a Head of International Relations Office Mgr. Vladislav Valach.

At the beginning of the meeting the guests presented their university, which has a 116-year history. Currently, it consists of five institutes, 11 faculties (Physical and technical, Electrotechnical, Department of radio-electronics and telecommunications, Informatics, Economics, International tourism and management, and more) and 59 departments. About 13 thousand students, of which 8 thousand of full-time study, attend the university.

As said ZNTU Rector prof. S. B. Belikov, he is interested in the cooperation in the field of education, research, through programs such as Erasmus +, Tempus and others. He reported that ZNTU has active cooperation with 12 countries within the Black Sea Network.

SUA Rector prof. P. Bielik informed the guests about the possibilities of cooperation. It can be implemented in the fields of education, science, research, student and staff mobility, and so on. "A great partner for your university can be a Faculty of Engineering SUA, which has set up a number of modern workplaces and laboratories, for example a scientific workplace Research Centre for Renewable Energy Sources, Department of transfer of innovative technologies and many more. In the field of economics, management and international marketing a Faculty of Economics and Management SUA, which implements the education of students in the English-Russian language and from the academic year 2014/2015 awards a double degree diploma to the graduates, can be again a good partner. An important area is also a research on the safety and quality control of foods where the cooperation with the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences SUA is possible, "said rector.

Currently, SUA has a cooperation agreement with more than 10 Ukrainian universities, some of them are also VUA members, which is also an excellent platform for intensive international, not only bilateral, cooperation. Within VUA it is possible to participate in its activities - summer schools, publications and so on.

SUA management also presented to the guests the opportunities for cooperation in research projects, particularly the Horizon 2020. Vice-Rector for Development of Strategic Programmes prof. Mgr. Eleonora Marišová, PhD. informed that in order to carry out the activities that support research activities of SUA, Horizon 2020 Office as a specialized facility for preparation, international research projects proposals (in particular Horizon 2020) and their administration  was established at SUA in Nitra with effect from April 1, 2015. She presented the calls in which Horizon 2020 Office is preparing international projects in cooperation with all SUA faculties and offered the opportunity of the participation of  Zaporizhzhya National Technical University and of the Ukrainian enterprises in their area of their specialization. She also mentioned the possibility of the cooperation in other programs, such as Erasmus+, SRDA Slovakia-Ukraine bilateral cooperation and the National Scholarship Programme of the Slovak Republic.
