The visit of new Indonesian Ambassador to SUA

The special guest at our alma mater was welcomed by the Rector, Prof.Peter Bielik, Vice-rectors and Deans. The new Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Slovakia H.E.Djumantoro Purwokoputro Purba accompanied by the embassy secretary Meylia Wulandari visited the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra during the first official visit on February 7, 2013. The special guest at our alma mater was welcomed by the Rector, Prof.Peter Bielik, Vice-rectors and Deans. The talks evaluated our cooperation and offered ideas for future academic and scientific common activities.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Ambassador was informed about the focus of scientific research of SUA faculties, departments and offices, its international activities as well as opportunities for further mutual cooperation. During the debate the bilateral cooperation with Gunadarma University in Jakarta, Indonesia, was assessed related to student and staff mobility, the organization of short-term intensive training programmes, exchange students, teacher participation in editorial boards, publications, conferences, particularly in the area of information, engineering, management and agricultural biodiversity. A trilateral cooperation with the University of Andalas, OSIVO company and SUA was presented, concentrating on wheat cultivation programme in Indonesia, in which problems are addressed selecting varieties, testing adaptation to growing conditions, grain quality, tolerance to biotic and abiotic environmental factors, multiplication, and others. The new Ambassador expressed his satisfaction with the existing cooperation and expressed an interest to continue it in the future.
