The Rector welcomed Polish researchers. Research teams will work together
15.03.2023Representatives of the Polish Institute of Horticulture in Skierniewice - prof. Stanislaw Kaniszewski and prof. Lidia Sas-Paszt, together with Miroslaw Lopucki, a Polish producer of fertilizers and soil biostimulators from the company Mirpol, visited SUA in Nitra on March 9.
Rector Klaudia Halászová welcomed the guests, accompanied by the Chairman of the Committee of the NC SR for agriculture and the environment, Jaroslav Karahuta, on the grounds of the university.
The Institute of Horticulture (Instytut Ogrodnoctwa) Skierniewice has been providing its scientific base for the needs of Polish horticulture for over seventy years. Currently, the institute's researchers are solving the problems of modern agriculture. They provide innovative technological solutions, new varieties and principles of plant protection against pests and pathogens applied in horticultural production.
After a discussion with Rector K. Halászová, the guests visited the university's laboratories and the AgroBioTech Research Center. Possibilities for the penetration of research areas on both sides with links to commercial producers and professional practice in Slovakia and Poland were jointly sought. Director Lucia Gabríny presented the focus of research at ABT RC.
At the end, SUA Vice-rector for Communication and Practice Pavol Findura informed his Polish colleagues about the possibilities of semi-operational and operational trials at the University Farm Kolíňany.
Both parties agreed to create mixed research teams, the terms of cooperation will be defined in the Memorandum of Cooperation.
