SUA Ranks Joint Second Among Slovak Universities in the THE World University Rankings 2027

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) has achieved a joint second place among Slovak universities in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings (THE WUR) 2027. Together with the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava and the University of Žilina, SUA ranks in the 1,401–1,600 band.
Comenius University Bratislava leads among Slovak institutions, ranking in the 1,201–1,400 band. The University of Oxford tops the global ranking. The 2027 edition assesses 2,297 universities across 118 countries and territories, making it one of the leading international rankings of higher education institutions.
THE WUR 2027 evaluates research-intensive universities using 17 indicators across five key areas: research quality (30%), teaching (29.5%), research environment (29%), international outlook (7.5%), and industry engagement (4%).
SUA achieved an overall score in the range of 27.3–30.4 points. Its individual scores were 26.6 for teaching, 22.3 for research environment, 33.3 for research quality, 22.5 for industry engagement, and 48.7 for international outlook.
The university was also ranked by subject area. In the Life Sciences category, SUA placed in the 601–800 band, joining universities from around the world recognised for their work in biological, agricultural, and related sciences.
This international recognition reflects SUA’s continued efforts to advance research excellence, strengthen international cooperation, and connect academia with industry and practical applications.
