The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) has once again achieved success in an international university ranking. In the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, it was placed in the 101–150 range in the Agriculture and Forestry category.
Among approximately 500 evaluated universities worldwide, this result represents a strong confirmation of the quality of education and research at SUA. The university is also the only higher education institution from Slovakia included in this category.
The QS rankings are among the most prestigious global university evaluations, featuring only top-performing institutions. The global leader in this field is Wageningen University [&] Research in the Netherlands, with which SUA collaborates on international projects. Such partnerships contribute to the development of research activities and the university's growing internationalisation.
Rector Klaudia Halászová stated that this achievement confirms that the university is moving in the right direction. SUA aims to further strengthen international cooperation and provide modern study programs that reflect current societal and labor market needs while supporting students' international experience. She also highlighted the importance of the AgroForestry project, carried out in cooperation with the Technical University in Zvolen, which focuses on joint, practice-oriented study programs and enhancing research capacity in agriculture and forestry.
