SUA in Nitra is the second best Slovak university. This is confirmed by the new Scimago ranking

Thirteen Slovak universities were evaluated in the latest Scimago Institutions Ranking 2020 ranking. The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra ranked second, ranking 743rd in the global rankings involving universities and research institutions.

The goal of Scimago Institutions Ranking is to provide a useful metric tool for institutions, policy makers and research managers to analyze, evaluate and improve their activities, outputs and results. The ranking evaluates academic and research institutions according to a combined indicator composed of three different sets focused on research performance (50%), innovation outputs (30%) and social impact measured by visibility on the web (20%).

The criterion for inclusion of the institution in the ranking was the condition of publishing at least 100 outputs included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period. One of the performance criteria in research is the percentage of articles published in Open Access journals that were included in the evaluation in the year.
