SUA in Nitra Became a Member of the Digital Coalition
21.02.2019On the 14th of February, an annual meeting of the Digital Coalition - National Coalition for Digital Skills and Professions of the Slovak Republic was held in the presence of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic in Bratislava. The main point of the program was to evaluate the Coalition's commitments, presentation of the accession members and the awarding prizes "Digital Unit 2018". Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitrabelongs to the fifteen new members of the Coalition.

The Digital Coalition was created from the initiative of the IT Association of Slovakia with the support of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic for Investments and Innovation on September 27, 2017. Its basic principle is an initiative in which members set voluntary commitments to improve the level of digital skills in Slovakia and subsequently cooperate in their fulfillment. The aim is to mobilize organizations and institutions to work together to tackle the lack of digital skills. The Coalition brings together partners from the state, private, non-profit, and academic sectors.
At the end of May (22nd -23rd), a meeting of the OECD Council will take place in Paris. For the first time in history, Slovakia will the presiding country of this organization. The Presidency's objective at the OECD Council's Ministerial Meeting is to discuss key issues selected and identify priorities for the OECD's work for the coming year. The theme of the Slovak Presidency is to exploit the potential of digitization and modern technologies for the sustainable growth of the economy.
