SUA is again the most sustainable university in Slovakia. The university improved significantly in the global ranking.

The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra once again recorded significant success in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2022, the results of which were published on December 12, 2022 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
According to the current ranking, the SUA in Nitra was ranked 234th out of 1,050 evaluated universities from 85 countries, with 94 more universities participating in the ranking than last year.
Compared to last year's result, the SUA in Nitra significantly improved its position in the rankings - by 31 places.
"The SUA in Nitra invested through projects that took into account sustainable solutions, such as the reconstruction of the Nová Doba dormitory, the interior of the Mladosť dormitory and the completion of reconstruction of the reflecting water surface in front of the main campus, and at the same time increased the share of separated components of municipal waste (plastics, paper, glass) and reduced the volume of mixed municipal waste, which brought the university another significant improvement in the global UI GreenMetric World University Rankings," said Ing. Hana Zach, PhD., from the Office of the Internal Quality Assurance System.
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings is the world's first university ranking that measures each participating university's commitment to building an "environmentally friendly" university.
Universities are evaluated in six areas – infrastructure (SI), energy and climate change (EC), waste (WS), water (WR), transport (TR) and education (ED). Education and water management were once again among the best rated categories.
The SUA in Nitra maintained its position in the top 10 universities within the V4 and defended the first place in Slovakia in environmentally friendly approach and activities. Among Slovak universities, the Technical University of Košice (707th place) and the University of Žilina (948th place) participated in the 2022 UI GreenMetric Rankings.
