Slovakia as Presiding Country at the OECD Forum in Paris
31.05.2019During 20-23 May 2019, the OECD Forum (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) was held in Paris, France. The Slovak Republic was represented by 2 representatives - Mgr. Kristína Gendová Ruzsíková from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic (Department of Foreign Coordination) and by prof. Adriana Kolesárová from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra - (Vice-Dean of the FBFS).
During 20-23 May 2019, the OECD Forum (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) was held in Paris, France. The Slovak Republic was represented by 2 representatives - Mgr. Kristína Gendová Ruzsíková from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic (Department of Foreign Coordination) and by prof. Adriana Kolesárová from the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra - (Vice-Dean of the FBFS).
The Slovak Republic was the presiding country for the first time since joining this organization. Canada and South Korea were the co-presiding countries. The aim of the Slovak Presidency was to create an active platform for ministerial dialogue on important issues in the digitization or trade of digital transformation. The topic was the Use of digital transformation for sustainable development: opportunities and challenges. Representatives of the meeting focused on topics such as digital transformation and growth, digital security and innovation as the engine of smart solutions for a better life and so on. At the same time, Slovakia is historically the first country of the Central European region in such a position. At the very top of the agenda was the current theme of Digitization and Agriculture. Traditional Slovak products and specialties were also offered during the forum.
