Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra and the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic Strengthen Long-Term Cooperation Through New Memorandum
05.05.2026The Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) is strengthening its cooperation with the Supreme Audit Office of the Slovak Republic (SAO SR), building on their long-standing partnership. The collaboration was formalized on 22 April through a memorandum signed by SUA Rector Klaudia Halászová and SAO SR President Ľubomír Andrassy.
The memorandum aims to enhance the link between the academic environment and audit practice, promote the exchange of expert data, and further develop education in the field of public finance. It is also intended to improve students’ preparation for professional practice and strengthen knowledge exchange between both institutions.
According to Rector Halászová, the cooperation will bring benefits to both sides, particularly students, through professional internships and the development of accredited study programmes focused on analysis and the control of the efficient use of public funds.
SAO SR President Andrassy described the agreement as an important step towards closer cooperation with academia, emphasizing the need to connect institutions capable of identifying national challenges and proposing solutions. He also highlighted emerging issues such as value shifts, artificial intelligence, and demographic trends affecting younger generations. He stressed the importance of encouraging student interest in audit and control professions, noting significant demand for roles in auditing, risk management, and analytical positions.
The memorandum covers cooperation in education, research, publishing, lectures, internships, and thesis supervision. SUA will provide expert consultancy, while SAO SR will gain access to analytical outputs and research findings related to economic sector developments and public administration performance.
