As a part of the Open Doors Day 2013 our visitors had a chance to see the university vivarium , botanical garden or the horse riding area (FAFR Department of Animal Husbandry) and participate in contests and other interesting events. • photo •
On February 8, the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra opened its doors to give secondary school students and their families insight into the background of its six faculties. As a part of the Open Doors Day 2013 our visitors had a chance to see the university vivarium , botanical garden or the horse riding area (FAFR Department of Animal Husbandry) and participate in contests and other interesting events.
Students, parents and other guests visited our faculties, obtained information about the study programmes, admission procedure and collaboration of departments with domestic and foreign institutions. There were information materials about the study programmes as well as our university newspaper Polnohospodar distributed.
Each faculty prepared something interesting for the visitors – FAFR prepared an exhibition of plants and animals, the horse riding area, FBFS introduces the brewery , a laboratory for the production of bread and microbiological laboratory. FEM offered a wide range of knowledge tests, FESRD organized a discussion with students on their experiences and opportunities associated with the study at FESRD. An exhibition of student photographs titled Changing Value Preferences was visited by many guests of the event. HLEF introduced project work of their students. The Faculty of Engineering organised an exhibition of agricultural machinery, models, tractor training rides as well as interesting experiments within the Young Einstein quiz. An interesting presentation and activities for primary school students were prepared by the ERASMUS office.
