Meeting with representatives of Canadian universities
30.09.2013The Slovak University of Agriculture organized a meeting of the university’s management representatives, lead by SUA rector, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., and representatives of Canadian universities – vice-president Harley L.D´Entremont and director of International initiatives Karen Strang from Nipissing university, as well as with president Lian Roy and International Development officer Jocelyne Landry from Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick.
The Slovak University of Agriculture organized a meeting of the university’s management representatives, lead by SUA rector, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., and representatives of Canadian universities – vice-president Harley L.D´Entremont and director of International initiatives Karen Strang from Nipissing university, as well as with president Lian Roy and International Development officer Jocelyne Landry from Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick. The meeting took place on September, 9th, 2013.
At the meeting were also presented prof. Dr. Elena Horská, vice-rector for International and Public Relations, prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc., vice-rector for Education and ECTS, prof. JUDr. Anna Bandlerová, PhD., dean of the FESRD, doc. JUDr. Eleonóra Marišová, PhD., vice-dean of International Relations, and others.
The main purpose of the meeting was the signature of Memorandum of Understanding on students and teachers mobilities, between the Slovak University of Agriculture and the both Canadian universities. The signature of the mentioned documents was realized on the occasion of Final meeting in the frame of the project EU-Canada Biopower: “Transatlantic empowering the skills, knowledge and knowhow in teaching and learning bioenergy entrepreneurship”, within SUA coordinated by Faculty of European Studies and Regional development. Within the two years of the project’s duration, 10 students from FESRD realized their studies and practical placement in Canada and 14 students from partner Canadian universities came to SUA from the same reasons. The successful coordination of the project resulted in signing the Memorandum that will be a base for the future cooperation between the Canadians and other faculties of SUA.
During the meeting, the visitors were introduced the SUA through a short ppt presentation, focused mainly on possibilities of international cooperation, followed by presenting their home institutions. In the second part of the program, the representatives had an opportunity to visit the modern laboratory at the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences.
