Indian delegation discussed cooperation possibilities
07.11.2013On November 5, a delegation from India led by Dr. Mukul Sangma, the Chief Minister of the Meghalaya State visited our university. Being located in the north-eastern part of the country, Meghalaya´s economy is mainly oriented on agriculture.
On November 5, a delegation from India led by Dr. Mukul Sangma, the Chief Minister of the Meghalaya State visited our university. Being located in the north-eastern part of the country, Meghalaya´s economy is mainly oriented on agriculture.
The guests were welcomed by prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Horská, Vice-rector for International and Public Relations, assoc.prof. Ing. Zuzana Palková, PhD, Vice-rector for Informatization and University Development and Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Dušan Húska, PhD, Vice-dean of the Faculty of European Studies and Regional Development. At the beginning of the meeting, SUA was introduced with the accent on its international and scientific activities. As added by Vice-rector Palková, SUA has a good potential especially in the area of agriculture, food quality, agrobiology, agro-energetics, environment and information and communication technologies.
The Indian guests expressed their interest in intensive cooperation in the field of integrated river basin management, development of traditional agricultural activities, increasing the attractiveness of farming among young people and developing food safety. As the Chief Minister M. Sangma said, they would take the examples of good practice from Slovakia.
