EIT Food Foodhaton Warsaw 2019: FBFS PhD students were awarded second place

Under the auspices of the EIT, the first annual Foodhaton Let's beat up the food waste was held in Warsaw on 27-28 November.
Foodhaton is a competition for ambitious students from different European countries. Their mission is to create a new innovative product or service in collaboration with experienced mentors from Maspex, universities in Warsaw, Turin and the PAN Institute in Olsztyn.
The prestigious competition was also attended by PhD students from the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra - Ing. Lukáš Jurčaga and Ing. Alžbeta Demianová, both from the Department of Food Hygiene and Safety. During two days they attended interesting marketing and strategy workshops on how to successfully run their start-ups. They cooperated with experts from the fields of science and research, marketing and food industry. At the same time they had to complete several tasks, which brought them to the final, to present their own idea - Personalized nutritional supplements. In the strong competition of two teams from Poland, Ukraine and Turkey, they managed to take the second place.
