The CLAAS Foundation has awarded technical talents

The CLAAS Foundation in Germany has been awarding prizes to young technical talents from international universities for more than twenty years. Its aim is to support the future development of agriculture and agricultural technology. The Faculty of Engineering of SUA in Nitra has also traditionally successfully participated in the event.

The award ceremony - scholarships, main prizes and International Student Prizes for defended bachelor's theses focused on agricultural technology, traditionally takes place every year in the CLAAS Technopark in Germany.

Given the current epidemiological situation and the risk of the spread of COVID-19, the management of the foundation decided this year (October 7) to announce the awards at a virtual event.

This year, they awarded prizes totaling 36,000 euros to thirteen students from Germany, England, the Netherlands, Hungary, Slovakia, Russia, Poland, Romania and Uzbekistan.

Students of the Faculty of Engineering of SUA in Nitra have also traditionally successfully participated in the event. In the International Student Prize category, Jozef Horňák, a student of the Faculty of Engineering received a CLAAS certificate and a financial support for further education in the amount of 2,000 euros, for his bachelor's thesis Automation of a drip irrigation system using a microcontroller.
