SUA is ranked among the best international universities

Totally, nine Slovak universities and one Slovak scientific institution, Slovak Academy of Sciences, are in the rating. SUA got into the list for the second consecutive year.

The rating is divided into three groups of indicators: research, innovation and web visibility. SUA has the best ranking according to the indicators which are size-independent such as scientific leadership, international collaboration and specialization. It is important to mention also SUA rating in the field of innovation, in which is ranked in the top 500 institutions worldwide.
Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR) is a science evaluation resource to assess international universities and research-focused institutions. In the rankings are only institutions with over 100 published works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the period of time. The SIR World Report is published by Scimago Research Group, a Spain-based research organization consist of members from the Spanish National Research Council, University of Granada, Charles III University of Madrid, University of Alcalá and other education institutions in Spain.
SIR rating uses the SCOPUS database and indicators are divided into three groups. As for the research, indicators of scientific output, international collaboration, high quality publications, scientific leadership, specialization and others are important. Innovation rankings include indicators of innovative knowledge and technological impact using data from PATSTAT and EPO. Web visibility is assessed according to the website size and domain’s inbound links using Google and ahrefs tools.
List of institutions is published each year using the results obtained in the five-year period ending in the current year. It means, that for the 2014, SIR used data from 2010-2014. The only exception is for web indicators, which are calculated for the last year.
