The opening ceremony on August 21 was honoured by the visit of official representatives such as the Prime Minister Robert Fico, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ľubomír Jahnátek, expresident SR Ivan Gašparovič, members of Slovak National Council, ambassador of the Czech Republic in Slovakia Livia Klausová and the Czech Minister of Agriculture Marian Jurečka, who visited also exposition of SUA. Topics of food sovereignty of the Slovak Republic, evaluation of the harvest and current issue of food export from EU to the Russian Federation, resonated in the speeches of the government representatives.
Our university stand in pavilion M1 was designed and produced by Botanical Garden, Public Relations office and Slovak Agricultural Library. Visitors could get information about accredited study programmes, the latest scientific publications and university research and development. SUA was represented also by the Department of Garden and Land Architecture of The Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering, which has prepared own exposition in pavilion F. Two outdoor expositions have been prepared by the Botanical garden and the Faculty of Engineering in cooperation with driving school Akadémia.
Around 450 companies from Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, France, Serbia, Slovenia, Belarus and many others were presented at this year´s fair. Agrokomplex lasted until August 24.
