New academic year has started with inauguration of the Rector

The Vice-Rector for Education and ECTS prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc., welcomed all the honoured guests including ex-president of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovic, ambassadors and representatives from embassies of India, Indonesia, Hungary and Russia, the Bishop of Nitra Mons. Viliam Judák, members of the Slovak National Council, the president of Nitra self-governing region Milan Belica, the mayor of the city of Nitra Jozef Dvonč, representatives of Slovak and foreign universities and others.
The Chairman of the Academic Senate doc. Ing. Ján Weis, PhD., inaugurated the Rector of SUA prof. Peter Bielik. The Rector opened the programme with his welcome address, in which he welcomed new students and talked about SUA mission and emphasized the importance of building a sustainable society.
During the festive atmosphere three new Vice-Rectors were handed academic insignia by Rector, prof. Bielik. Prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc. remains in the office of the Vice-rector for Education and ECTS also for the second term. New Vice-rector for Science and Research is prof. Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD. (FESRD) and Ing. arch. Roberta Štěpánková, PhD. (FHLE) is a new Vice-rector for Informatization and University Development.
On the occasion of his inauguration Rector of SUA prof. Peter Bielik has decided to award six professors of SUA, who have significantly contributed to the development of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra: prof. Ingr Juraj Hraška, DrSc., Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Ivanov Hričovský, DrSc., prof. Ing. Imrich Točka, CSc., prof. Ing. Rudolf Holúbek, DrSc., prof. Ing. Ivanovi Michalíkovi, DrSc. and prof. Ing. Milan Gajdošík, CSc. Rector also appreciated work of PhDr. Ing. Daniela Wolfová, who had been director of folk ensemble Zobor for 16 years.
The event has been enriched by cultural programme of Rasťo Jurčík and Tomáš Ducký, who performed two compositions on accordion and piano and performance of folk ensemble Zobor.
