On 7 February, representatives of the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra (SUA) met researchers at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. The visit was financed from the Fund for Bilateral Relations within the EEA and Norway Grants. The aim of the university cooperation initiative was to discuss possible cooperation in the fields of education, research and joint research projects.
During the visit, SUA representatives negotiated with prof. Laura Jaakola, Senior Researcher at the Climatic Laboratory of the Faculty of Biology, Fisheries and Economics, Leidulf Lund, UiT researcher at the Department of Arctic and Marine Biology, Jorgen Molmann, NIBIO scientist, and UiT International Cooperation Officers. Many intersections of common topics have been found, both universities participate in the same project challenges and address very similar research tasks. The issue of student and staff mobility has also been raised.
