The Mayor of Nitra Jozef Dvonč welcomed the delegation of the South Korean city of Gyeongju, led by the Mayor of Choi Yang Sikom on April 4, 2013. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors of both countries Dušan Bella, and Park Sang-hoon as well as the SUA Rector prof. Peter Bielik and the Vice-Rector of the UKF Doc. Miroslav Tvrdoň were present at the meeting.
"Our cities have a number of common features. We are one of the oldest on our continents, we have a rich history and a similar direction, "said the Mayor Jozef Dvonč. His words followed the Mayor Yang Sik Choi, who said he sees a huge opportunity in the common perception of the future.
Intensive discussions about the possibilities of cooperation between our two cities have taken place since April 26, 2012, when Nitra was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic in the Republic of Korea Dušan Bella, who was the initiator of establishing such cooperation. The guests from Korea visited Nitra for the first time in last August.
