FHLE Offers Internationally Recognized and Accredited Study Program

Study program "Landscape and Garden Architecture" is offered in Slovakia only by the Faculty of Horticulture and Landscape Engineering of SUA in Nitra. This program is recognized and accredited by the International Federation of Landscape Architects - IFLA Europe since 2012. In 2018 it was re-evaluated and accredited by IFLA Europe for the next five years. The benefit to the faculty is that the teaching methods is internationally acceptable, and for the students to have greater opportunities to find employment abroad.
The aim of the study program is to prepare experts for the practice - engineers - a landscape architects who have the prerequisites for designing the garden, park, landscape and public spaces and designing cultural urban and rural landscape. Such expert is able to creatively change space by modeling terrain, vegetation, water, artistic, technical and natural elements. He/she will have knowledge of natural and technical sciences, landscape science, art-aesthetic and construction-building subjects, master the history, theory and tools of gardening and landscaping, to know the range of plants usable in gardening and landscaping and architectural creation as well as technology of realization plantings. Knowledge of information technology and applied computer graphics will also be gained, and will be responsible for the issues of greening and maintenance.
The talent test is mandatory
The application for bachelor's study program Landscape and Garden Architecture must be submitted by February 28, 2019. This is a four-year, full-time study program. The part of admission procedure is a talent test that will be held from 25 to 26 April 2019. The FHLE organizes the preparatory course on April 5, 2019. For the first year of the bachelor study, 50 applicants will be accepted. The bachelor study is followe by two-year master studies in both full-time and part-time study.
