Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Slovakia Visited SUA in Nitra

Indonesia is the fourth most populated country in the world, and last year the population grew to 265.4 million. The country has a very strong economy, which is on the sixteenth world scale. The ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Slovakia,Ms. Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, opened an interesting thematic lecture "Indonesia Today" at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the SUA in Nitra.
The lecture took place on February 18, 2019 and was part of the FEM's Indonesian Corner. It was focused on issues of international relations and trade, the diversity of the world and was intended for students studying the subject of a European consumer and Consumer behavior. As the Indonesian ambassador said, the country is an exporter of fish and textile products, coffee, palm oil, electronics, furniture, and so on. Most of the import - one third - consists of cereals, but also iron, steel, medicines and others. Indonesia has signed several bilateral treaties with Slovakia. Cooperation priorities include international trade, tourism, the food and energy industry, banking, higher education, etc.
Cooperation of SUA in Nitra with Indonesian universities
SUa's cooperation with the Indonesian universities in Nitra has started in 2012 as a result of research in the wheat growing program in Indonesia, mainly because of the question of food security resonates in the world. During the program with University Andalas, problems in varieties selection, testing adaptation to growing conditions, phenology, grain quality, tolerance against biotic and abiotic factors have been addressed. SUA played the role of an independent research and education institution, which task was to offer know-how and training of agricultural professionals, especially in the field of cultivation of special types of cereals suitable for the region of Indonesia.
The second pillar of the cooperation was marketing and consumer research on the use of innovative non-marketing methods in consumer behavior. It was implemented by FEM and Gunadarma University, which also supported the FEM in the construction of a modern Consumer Studies Laboratory.
