Catering
Catering for foreign students within various international programmes is provided by a university canteen. The price for students
is approximately 0.30 to 2.- EUR per meal.
Accommodation
Accommodation for foreign students is provided in the university student hostels (dormitories). Application forms for accommodation
(ANNEX 3) are to be submitted within the same periods as application forms for the study at the SAU. Application forms must be sent

Travelling
City transportation system
The City of Nitra has well developed public transport system. Timetable of buses is available on: www.imhd.sk/nr
There are two ways of fare payment:
1. To buy ticket from bus driver in cash. This ticket is valid only for one journey without change. For ticket prices see table below. There are not any season tickets in Nitra.
2. Fare payment by credit chip card. The card can be obtained at operator's ticket offices where is also possibility of credit
charging. Fare paid by credit card is lower than ticket from bus driver (see table below). The advantage of chip card is that you
will have fare reduction 40% if you will change within 40 minutes after first journey. Card is valid for 3 years and its price
is 200 Sk (app. 5,30 EUR - March 2005) without credit. Credit can be charged in range between 100 and 5000 SKK
(app. From 2,63 EUR to 131,60 EUR - March 2005).
If you want to buy ticket from bus driver, you should board to the bus via first door. If you have credit chip card you can board
via any doors and then you must mark your card by placing it to marking machine.

Bus long-distance transport
Long-distance bus transport in Nitra is well developed to connect whole Slovakia and foreign destinations. You can find detailed
information available on www.cp.sk and www.eurolines.sk .
Train connections
Travelling by train is not so convenient as bus transport. Travelling by train to certain destinations may need a change of the
train. Further information on train connections you can find on www.cp.sk or directly
at the railway station in Nitra. It is possible to buy train tickets to all European destinations through on-line system.
