Meeting with representatives of Tianjin University has brought new impulses for a cooperation
16.12.2014On December 12, 2014, SUA in Nitra was visited by the representatives of Tianjin University (TU) in China - Li Qingfeng from the School of International Education and Yang Fuling – the director of the Department for International Cooperation of TJU, led by prof. Hu Wenping, the Assistant President of the University and the Dean of the School of Science. The management of SUA together with the Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD welcomed our Chinese partners.
On December 12, 2014, SUA in Nitra was visited by the representatives of Tianjin University (TU) in China - Li Qingfeng from the School of International Education and Yang Fuling – the director of the Department for International Cooperation of TJU, led by prof. Hu Wenping, the Assistant President of the University and the Dean of the School of Science. The main aim of the meeting with the management of SUA was to bring new ideas, impulses and outline a vision for the development of cooperation in the future. The management of SUA together with the Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD welcomed our Chinese partners.
On April 29, 2014, SUA signed the Memorandum about bilateral cooperation with Tianjin University which is one of the oldest universities and one of the five most prestigious universities in China at the same time. As the Rector prof. Peter Bielik mentioned, the aims of the signed documents are gradually being fulfilled. SUA – Department of Languages of FEM implements teaching of Chinese language for beginners under the leadership of Chinese lector Mr. Zhang Changhu from Tianjin University who also attended the meeting. Chinese partners proposed to assign to this activity also the other activities that would contribute to the development of education in the Chinese language, Chinese culture, but also in other sciences. Both partners have stated that further that it is important to promote the teaching of Chinese language at SUA and to launch other specific activities in the field of education, science and research next year.
As the guests expressed, China still increases a pressure on the quality and improvement of higher education. The cooperation in the sphere of higher education, science and research is the great opportunity for both institutions. TJU has 18 faculties. The delegation members brought with them a list of names of the experts with over a hundred laboratories that are willing and ready to accept our students and common research. They also proposed to discuss the implementation of mobility of teachers and students, summer intensive training courses or summer schools. Rector prof. P. Bielik informed the guests about the possibility of cooperation through involvement in the project Building of research centre “AgroBioTech” at SUA, the implementation of research mobility, summer schools focused on various current topics – food quality, regional development, etc. “TJU offers a really wide range of activities, we see it as a great opportunity for all our faculties” he emphasized. Prof. Elena Horská, who represented FEM, stated that the cooperation with TJU could be orientated in the future on socio-economic studies about China and its market.
