The President of Slovak Republic Appointed New Rectors

On May 22, the President of the Slovak Republic, Andrej Kiska, appointed seven new rectors of Slovak universities. One of the new rectors is also assoc. prof. Ing. Klaudia Halászová, PhD. who will take up the position of Rector of Slovak University of Agriculutre in Nitra in July 2018.
The president wished energy and a lot of success to new rectors of both public and private universities. “Appointing you as rectors will drive you further from the duties of pedagogical employees – you will need to focus on the management and funding of the institutions you have chosen to lead“, said the President. He also emphasized the importance of universities´ focus on further improvement of the quality of pedagogical activities, the neccessary pressure to increase quality of outputs and results of scientific, research or artistic activity and to bring it closer to the quality of European standard, so it is possible to compare us with the world.
New rectors: Roman Boča from University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava, Klaudia Halászová from Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, Edita Hekelová from the School of Management in Trenčín, Jozef Jandačka from University of Žilina, Tomáš Lengyelfalusy from DTI University in Dubnica nad Váhom, Peter Šimko from Slovak Medical University in Bratislava a Libor Vozár from Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
