SUA Representatives attended the 4th Meeting of China-CEEC Consortium

The fourth Consortium meeting of the Chinese and Central European universities took place on 21.-22. September in Serbia. SUA was represented by the Vice-Rector for Education and ECTS prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc., and the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Horská.

The program was organized at the highest level, under the auspices and with the participation of the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Ana Brnabić, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, Vice Minister of Education of the People's Republic of China Du Zhanyuan and Rector of the University of Novi Sad Dušan Nikolić.

 

About 150 participants from 16 Central European countries and China, including our partners from Tianjin University, participated in the event. The first day was dedicated to a political forum formulating the charter, which was approved and signed the next day. It contains the basic framework for cooperation in science and education. 

 

Important guests and representatives of universities gave their speech, including the Minister of Science, Education and Technological Development of Serbia, Rector of the University of Bucharest, Rector of the University of Zagreb, Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds of Jagiellonian University, Rector of University of Szeged, Rector of the University of Montenegro, Rector of the University of Belgrade and Rectors of Chinese universities. Everyone declared their interest in academic and scientific cooperation, and many proudly presented the numbers of foreign students at their universities, as well as the existence of joint or double degrees in cooperation with Chinese universities. Since the official language of Serbia is also the Slovak language, our delegation was asked to give an interview for one of the Serbian television channels. The interview was given by the Vice-Rector of SUA in Nitra, prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc.

 

The Serbian hosts were very cordial, caring and tried to show us the best from Serbia, Vojvodina and Novi Sad. The program included a visit to traditional shepherd´s hut, presentation of the production of traditional AJVAR pepper spreads, visit to the historic town of Sremski Karlovci and also to the local wineries. Slovakia was represented at the negociations by the representatives of STU in Bratislava, the rector of the University of Žilina and the representatives of the University of Prešov.

 

Participation in the fourth meeting with Chinese universities in Serbia provided space for new contacts and discussions. We negotiated with the representatives of the Renmin University of China, who are looking for a partner for European affairs studies from socio-economic and political point of view, and  with Vice President  of Jilin Jianzhu University who was interested in developing cooperation in  technical and economic sciences.
