SUA Concludes Memorandum of Understanding with Saratov State Agrarian University

Starting bilateral cooperation in science, education, research and culture was the aim of the meeting of the Rector of Saratov State Agrarian University n. a. N. I. Vavilov (SSAU) in Russia, prof. Nikolay Ivanovich Kuznetsov, and the Director of Institute of International Education, prof. Galina N. Kamysh, and the Rector of SUA in Nitra, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. Our guests were also accompanied by the Dean of FEM, prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Horská.
Prof. N. I. Kuznetsov introduced his university consisting of four faculties (focusing on agronomy, economics and management, agriculture and environmental engineering, veterinary medicine, food science and biotechnology) and two institutes, as well as its scientific, research and educational activities. The university is rich in its 105-year history and educates 13 thousand students, among them foreign students from 30 countries of the world. In 2015, SSAU and Russian State Agrarian University – MTAA were ranked 1th among 54 Russian agrarian universities.
Rector of SUA prof. P. Bielik stated that broader cooperation is needed in the fields of plant and animal production, economic and technical sciences, as well as technologies. He presented the possibility to cooperate within VUA, as well as to participate in research activities of AgroBioTech Research Centre.
At the end, the Rectors signed Memorandum of Understanding.
Prof. N. I. Kuznetsov also invited representatives of SUA in Nitra to come to November forum at SSAU, during which the university will commemorate the 130th anniversary of the birth of N. I. Vavilov, Russian geneticist, botanist, author of the theory of world centres of origin of cultivated plants.
