New Rector of SUA, assoc. prof. Ing. Klaudia Halászová, Officially Took Up the Function

As of 3 July 2018, Slovak University of Agriculture is officially lead by new rector - assoc. prof. Ing. Klaudia Halászová, PhD. Former rector, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, welcomed her in the Rector´s Office and wished her health, success and great co-workers.

“Being the head of the university is a great responsibility. It is a work that can bring a lot of joy, when everything is going well, but on the other side, also a lot of worries and sleepless nights. I am convinced that our new rector has the capability to handle all of the challenging tasks and to continue to lead the university by her own style”, said prof. Bielik.

The official welcome of the new rector was also attended by the assoc. prof. Mgr. Ing. Danka Moravčíková, PhD. (Chairman of Academic Senate), assoc. prof. Ing. Izabela Adamičková, PhD. (former Bursar), Ing. Zuzana Gálová (new Bursar), and Ing. Anna Božiková (Chancellor).

According to the new rector assoc. prof. Klaudia Halászová, the most important tasks for our university is to prepare graduates better for the practice, to strengthen the position of our green university as a top center of science and research, and to establish its prestige in the eyes of the public. “The basic direction is to focus on practice, to enrich relations with it and, of course, in addition to educating the students, the development of science and research. The newly approved Act on the Quality Assurance in Higher Education deals with the new conditions of accreditation, and quality assessments of studies. But what is the final point of all effort? It is a graduate that will succeed in specific working and living conditions. I will be glad if every study program validation goes through the agricultural unions and chambers.
