Important Chinese university has shown interest in cooperation with SUA in Nitra

On Deceber 14th a six-member delegation from the Hebei Agricultural University in China visited the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra.
During a meeting with SUA Rector Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD. and members of the university and faculties management the foreign partners under the leadership of the University President prof. Shen Shuxing were informed about the activities of our university workplaces. They expressed their interest in closer cooperation in student and teacher exchange as well as in joint science and research activities. The pre-Christmas atmosphere of the meeting underlined the performance of the members of Divadielko na Osmičke, who presented Christmas carols and received well deserved applause.
Afterwards the guests accompanied by Rector of the SUA in Nitra Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., Vice-Rector for Education and ECTS prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, CSc. and Head of the International Relations Office Mgr. Vladislav Valach visited the AgroBioTech Research Center. The guests highly evaluated the state-of-the-art equipment of laboratories and the current results of the research activities presents by the Center's staff.
As a part of the afternoon program the foreign partners from China visited the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences of SUA in Nitra.
Dean of FEM prof. Dr. Ing. Elena Horská and vice-deans prof. Ing. Iveta Ubrežiová, CSc. and doc. Ing. Patrik Rovný, PhD. welcomed at the faculty the prof. Liu Wancai, Vice-Dean of the Institute of Humanities and Managerial Sciences of Hebei Agricultural University (HAU). The main topic of the interviews was co-operation in the field of bachelor, Master and doctoral programs taught in English. Prof. Wancai also expressed interest in educating Chinese teachers in Slovakia and gaining new experiences. After discussing the possibilities of mobilities and common or double diplomas the market research questions have been raised. Researchers of the Department of Bioeconomics of AgroBioTech Research Centre - Ing. Jakub Berčík, PhD., And Ing. Zuzana Kapustová, PhD., presented to the Chinese guest the Laboratory of Neuroeconomics and Consumer Decisions, the registered patents in the field of consumer research and knowledge and informed about current research in the field of bioeconomics and publishing. Prof. Wancai also visited the Indonesian Corner and premises of the Challenge Fund Team Student Club. He appreciated the creative and untraditional solution of the space, which creates a pleasant informal atmosphere. The conclusions of the meeting will be presented in form of joint plans to the management of Hebei Agricultural University.
Prof. Zhang Wei, Dean of the Science and Technology Institute of HAU and Chiristine Sun from the HAU International Cooperation Office visited the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Science where they presented the educational and research activities of their institution. FBFS Vice-dean for Science and Research prof. Ing. Adriana Kolesárová, PhD. and Vice-dean for Education prof. Mgr. Alena Vollmannová, PhD. presented the pedagogical and scientific activities of the faculty. The main topic of the discussion was bilateral cooperation in the field of education, the creation of joint study programs focusing on food and biotechnology and the development of mobility activities. In a friendly atmosphere, doubts about double diplomas were discussed, as well as the possibility of granting scholarships to our PhD students at the HAU. Foreign partners appreciated the publishing activity of the faculty and its scientific journals. The program followed by a visit of the Center of Excellence for the White-Green Biotechnology presented by doc. RNDr. Dana Urminská, CSc. a RNDr. Juraj Miššík, PhD. At the end of the meeting, both partner universities stated that the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Sciences and the Science and Technology Institute of HAU have very close, almost identical thematic focus, which is an important attribute in the planned cooperation.
