High-Level Appreciation of Cooperation of Slovak Universities and Ukrainian Partners

Invited by the Ukrainian Scientific-Educational Consortium and Vinnytsia National Agrarian University, the Rectors of Slovak universities Peter Bielik, Jana Mojžišová and Rudolf Kropil visited Ukraine. They met with the Vice-President of Ukrainian Academy of Agrarian Sciences and discussed objectives and missions of institutions in the development of life sciences.
During their visit of the Academy, the Rectors were welcomed by the Vice-President academician prof. Valeriy Zhuk and the Presidium. The delegation participated in international conference Development of Land Relations, Organizational, Economic, Legal and Technological Support to Ukrainian Agriculture, which was organized by Vinnytsia National Agrarian University. In addition to the Slovak Rectors, the conference was attended by more than 400 leading scientists, pedagogues, government officials, representatives of public institutions and agricultural enterprises.
Vinnytsia National Agrarian University consists of 6 faculties, has approximately 15,000 students, and its roots go back to the 17th century. At the university, the Slovak Rectors met with the Rector prof. Hryhorij Kaletnik and the management of the university and its faculties in order to sign a multilateral agreement on cooperation. The agreement provides space to look for possibilities of deeper cooperation of Slovak universities and Ukrainian universities and scientific institutions focusing on agriculture.
The programme of the journey also included the visit of a research complex and experimental fields aimed at medicinal plants, cereal crops, legumes and biomass production.
Based on the long-term cooperation, Dr.h.c. prof. Ing. Peter Bielik, PhD., the Rector of SUA in Nitra, was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor Honoris Causa in the field of Business economics by the Ukrainian Scientific-Educational Consortium seated in Kiev. The Rector of the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice prof. MVDr. Jana Mojžišová, PhD. and the Rector of the Technical University in Zvolen prof. Ing. Rudolf Kropil, CSc. were also awarded the honorary degree Dr.h.c.
