Cuba is interested in our experience

On 17 April, representatives of the management of our university received a delegation, led by the Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in Slovakia Yamila S. Pita Montes, at the AgroBioTech research center. Mrs. Ambassador was accompanied by the representatives of PROXENTA Cuban Investments, lead by its owner and manager Pavol Kožík and the representatives of a Cuban company CORALSA. Guests said they planned to set up a confectionery joint venture with Cuban investors showing an interest in visiting SUA and discussing opportunities for academic cooperation, especially with regard to the preparation of Cuban experts for agricultural and food practice.
The Vice-Rector prof. RNDr. Zdenka Gálová, PhD., presented the history and present of our university with special regard to international cooperation, which is very extensive and multifaceted. Foreign guests were interested in the presentation of SUA and the AgroBioTech research center. The Ambassador Mrs. Yamila Sonia Pita Montes, said in her address that after seeing the information material, she had many ideas for further useful cooperation. The Ambassador, accompanied by guests, director of the AgroBioTech Research Center doc. Ing. Tatiana Bojňanská, CSc., and Vice-Rector prof. Ing. Ján Gaduš, PhD., visited the laboratories and workplaces of the research center and was interested in its project and activities. H.E. cordially invited representatives of our university and researchers to visit Cuba in order to make use of experience for mutual cooperation both in education and in practice.
