Dear friends,

The Slovak Agricultural University is a top educational, research and cultural institution, occupying a unique place in the education of experts in agriculture and related scientific areas. During its more than 50-year-long existence, study programs in the areas of economics, technology, landscape creation, environmental studies and other areas have been introduced, thus changing a primarily agricultural type of institution into a university with a wide range of scientific activities.
The Slovak Agricultural University, ranking as the fourth largest university in the Slovak Republic, currently provides a temporary home for over 10,000 young people, studying in different forms of study and at different stages. The educational process is carried out by almost 500 pedagogical and scientific staff. Their aim is not only to teach, but also to carry out basic and applied research, as well as provide counselling and expertise services. Last but not least, they participate in the preparation of young scientific staff.
Thanks to a high quality education, the University graduates, whose number has already exceeded 37,000, have managed to find employment not only in Slovakia, but abroad as well. They hold various positions, from agricultural primary production up to positions of top management in the areas of finance, insurance and politics, including members of Parliament and the Slovak government. The quality of work of the SAU's students and staff is also proved by the fact that the Accreditation Commission of the Slovak Government regularly ranks the University into the highest category.
The co-operation with domestic and, especially, foreign scientific and research institutions is very significant for life at our University.
The further development of the Slovak Agricultural University in Nitra is ensured by the fact that it provides very good study conditions, high quality instruction, good opportunities for the placement of its graduates in the labour market, a stimulating and activating environment, as well as a good background for the extracurricular activities of its students.
The great interest of students in studying at the University every year is evidence of its good future prospects. A significant role attracting the students is also played by the charm of the ancient city of Nitra in which history is married to the present.

The Slovak Agricultural University, together with other significant agricultural and cultural institutions, as well as the beautiful natural landscape, have made Nitra a real "Mecca" of Slovak agriculture.
